I’m writing to share an important update: the Boards of Directors of ConnexFM and OSCRE International have each approved pursuing a merger between our two organizations.
OSCRE International is the leading organization advancing real estate data standards across the industry, and a partner we know well. For more than five years, ConnexFM and OSCRE have worked together on data initiatives and educational programming, co-launched FutureBuilt (now entering its second year), and since January 2025, ConnexFM has managed OSCRE’s day-to-day operations. This merger is a natural next step in a relationship we’ve already built.
Per Texas law and ConnexFM Bylaws, ConnexFM members will vote on whether to accept the final proposal to merge with OSCRE International. We’ll share more information on the details of the merger and the voting process in the coming days. Voting is set to open on September 14 and will be available to every active ConnexFM member in good standing holding a voting seat, meaning the Primary or Alternate roster seat for your company. If you need to review or update your voting member seats, please reach out to membership@connexfm.com for assistance during this step.

The Boards of Directors of ConnexFM and OSCRE International have each approved pursuing a merger between the two organizations.
ConnexFM’s strength in convening and serving multi-site facilities management professionals, combined with OSCRE’s leadership in real estate data standards, creates an opportunity to expand what members of both organizations have access to — including data standards resources and a broader network of technology and industry partners across FM and the built environment.
A ConnexFM task force — chaired by Ron Rau, with Chris Slocum, CJ Jernigan, Brad Shyver, and Craig Nichols — evaluated the opportunity on ConnexFM’s behalf and reported back favorably to the full Board. The OSCRE Board conducted its own review and reached the same conclusion. Both Boards have approved moving forward together.
Both Boards have approved pursuing the merger. Under ConnexFM’s governing documents, ConnexFM members have the right to vote on the proposal before it can be finalized.
OSCRE International is a non-profit organization focused on real estate data standards and data management for the real estate and asset management industry. OSCRE develops the common data language that lets real estate and facilities data – work orders, assets, costs, benchmarking – mean the same thing across different systems, providers, and portfolios, rather than every organization managing its own translation layer. OSCRE does this through their developed Industry Data Model (IDM) that they run and manage.
Per OSCRE bylaws, the voting was already approved by the OSCRE Board of Directors. It is only ConnexFM members who will need to complete a final vote on the proposed merger.
OSCRE will become part of ConnexFM while continuing its focus on data standards and data management work for the industry. OSCRE members will formally become a member of ConnexFM, their current membership structure, dues, and benefits will remain the same through 2027.
The member vote will open on September 14, 2026.
If the vote is approved, the merger will be finalized and will go into effect 60-days later.
All active ConnexFM voting members in good standing as of the ballot open date. Voting members are defined as the Primary and Alternate contact for a given organization.
You’ll receive an email with a secure link to an online ballot. ConnexFM members will be required to login to access the ballot. Watch your inbox around September 14th when this link will be released to the voting members.
When logged into your my.connexfm.com account, you will be able to review your organizations roster. Only those holding a “Primary” or “Alternate” role are a voting member. If your organization needs to update the person in this role, please have the current Primary or Alternate member reach out to membership@connexfm.com to request an update of the seat holder.

No. Nothing will be changed for members as a result of this merger in 2026 or 2027.
There is no planned change to ConnexFM’s current membership structure or costs as a result of this merger.
Over time, ConnexFM members will have the opportunity to opt-in to additional benefits made possible through OSCRE, including access to OSCRE’s data standards resources and Industry Data Model (IDM), along with access to an expanded network of technology and industry partners across the built environment. These are opportunities you can choose to take advantage of, not changes made automatically to your existing membership. Details on what those options will look like will be shared with all members before they are released, and these will be made optional to members, not required.
So long the merger is approved, more details on the new benefits will be released to ConnexFM members when they become available. We will keep an open and transparent communication on any new benefits made available to members.
