The ConnexFM Mentorship Program is a protégé-driven program that helps establish relationships between two ConnexFM members and involves coaching, advising, and supporting the professional goals of the protégé for a time period agreed upon by each mentor-protégé team via a signed agreement. This is a perpetual program meaning that mentor-protégé partnerships can be created at anytime during the year. ConnexFM intends this program to help shape the multi-site FM marketplace and positively impact the careers of ConnexFM members by improving their skills in coaching, leadership, and relationship-building. The program provides:

A supportive relationship to help protégés meet their professional objectives.
An open exchange of ideas and feedback; and a confidential environment.

ConnexFM is proud to announce an additional mentorship program especially for students pursuing careers in facility management, construction management as well as skilled trades, such as HVAC/R, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, etc.

Student mentorship programs create meaningful connections that empower both mentors and mentees. They foster academic success, build confidence, and open doors to future opportunities—while strengthening a sense of community and support. Apply today to get started!

Eligibility:

Any ConnexFM member in good standing is eligible to participate in the program and we encourage members of all ages and experience levels to sign up as a mentee for career guidance and support. Any student interested in the mentorship program can join ConnexFM for free through the Educations Membership opportunity (learn more here).

The filling of mentor/protégé slots is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that this program is for professional development purposes and not intended to be a sales/prospecting opportunity.

What are the general expectations of a mentor and protégé?

When joining the mentorship program, participants understand that they are committed to both supporting protégés and completing the mentorship responsibilities.

I’m already experienced but are looking for a higher-level mentor, how do I make sure I’m getting matched with someone with the right experience level.

When submitting your application, you will both a mentor and protégé will indicate the current experience level you have, along with the level you’re looking to match with. Our team purposefully looks for the right match to meet your needs as a protégé.

How long does a mentorship last for?

Although the ConnexFM program is set for up to 12-months, many of our mentor-protégé connections stay in touch well after the ConnexFM program completion.

The following are merely general guidelines. Each Mentorship partnership experience will vary based on the protégé’s needs and goals:

Due to confidentiality reasons, ConnexFM does require that a mentorship agreement form be completed and signed by each mentor-protégé team.
Be prepared to meet with one another potentially once per month.
Provide quarterly feedback about the program experience
Commit to program work and whatever timeframe is agreed upon between each mentor and protégé.
1 in-person networking event (if possible; example: meet with each other at ConnexFM’s National or Mid-Year Conference or other in-person events during the year)
