2019-2020 Board of Directors

Connex is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who are career professionals working in the industry, selling to and/or servicing retail and multi-site facilities. The 2019-20 Board will consist of 11 Directors: six retail and five supplier members who serve three-year rotating terms. In addition, three alternates, two retail members and one supplier member, serve as non-voting Board Members available to step into a Board seat should a vacancy occur on the Board during a term.

Matthew has over 25 years of experience in commercial facility maintenance and holds an EMBA in business management. Matthew is well versed in the development of best practices within the cleaning and flooring industry, as well as the principles necessary to develop long term mutually rewarding partnerships. This combined experience and education led to his commitment to continually improve processes, programs, and financial efficiencies in both his own company and the operations of his clients and partners.

Jaclyn Frenzel


President/Chief Growth Officer - OnSite, Inc.

Jaclyn currently serves as the President and Chief Growth Officer for OnSite, Inc. an international (multi-site) cleaning management firm. In 2010, Jaclyn was named partner and became a leader in one of the few Minority & Women-Owned businesses within the Multi-Site Management Industry.

Her professional work experience, over the last 15 years, includes: strategic marketing campaigns, regulatory change, global program development, and facilities maintenance (big box, retail, restaurant, healthcare, grocery & childcare). Among her accomplishments, Jaclyn helped shape the landscape for home construction through regulatory influence, in California, during her tenure with the Building Industry Association; was named one of Central California’s, “Influencers under 40” by San Joaquin Magazine; actively volunteers for regional women’s & youth organizations; served as the Chair of the Connex Membership and Networking Committees (2016/2017), and was awarded the prestigious PRSM/Connex Vendor of the Year (2015). Jaclyn’s educational and professional background lend to her unique ability to find consensus among groups and bring people together to influence change.


Jonathan Bauer

Senior Director, Store Development - Gap, Inc.

Jonathan currently serves as the 2019/2020 Immediate Past Chair of the Connex Board of Directors. As Sr. Director of Store Development for Gap Inc., he leads the construction, store maintenance, and minor remodel teams that support over 2,800 stores in the North American fleet. His areas of expertise include project management, construction management, asset management and leadership. His current passion revolves around leading a regional team of experts in construction and maintenance while partnering with multiple brand teams to optimize fleet investment across Gap Inc. Jonathan has been with Gap Inc. for 14 years responsible for several different functions w/in Store Development. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University. Previously he served as the PRSM Board Chair for two consecutive terms, Director on the PRSM Board since 2015, served on the Board’s Audit & Investment Committee, the Board’s Nominating Committee, was Board Liaison to the International Committee and served as Co-Chair for the 2014/15 National Conference Task Force.

Anthony currently serves as the Director, Facilities & Energy Management for ULTA Beauty in Chicago, IL. Anthony’s relationships, professional work experience, post graduate education and community involvement positions him well to add value and perspective to the Connex Association Board of Directors. His professional work experience includes Retail (Big Box to Specialty), Warehouse, Distribution, Grocery, Healthcare, and work as a service provider. (Facilities, Construction, Store Operations, Energy & Sustainability, Safety, and various support roles)


Steve Andrews

Vice President, Centralized Facilities – Public Storage

Twenty-year Facilities veteran, Steve Andrews, is Vice President, Central Facilities for Public Storage. Throughout his career his fiscal responsibility has spanned $225+ million dollars with oversight of 5,000+ locations. His successful track record includes spearheading positive change across all assigned areas, including fiscal, logistical, and operations. His areas of expertise include capital expense management. Identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives. He previously served on the Connex Mid-Year Committee and was Co-Chair of the Conference Committee.

Senior Facilities Manager - Adidas

As Senior Facilities Manager, Kirk manages the 2-person facilities department overseeing their 235-store portfolio. Living by the ‘Never Stop Learning’ mantra, he earned numerous designations over the years, and is very involved in the industry, serving on committees since he joined PRSM in 2006. Kirk previously served on the PRSM Board (2013-16) and as President (2014-15). Kirk was honored to be named PRSM Retailer of the Year (2013), and Facility Executive of the Year (2018). His message to everyone; Don’t be good - Be Great!

Grant Baecker

President - Authority HVAC

Grant Baecker has been an executive in the real estate services industry for 16 years. Grant co-founded his current company, Authority HVAC in 2006 and led it from start-up to one of the industry’s leading national and self-performing HVAC companies. As a Connex board member, Grant works to position the association to capitalize on the industry trends occurring over the next 10 years. In his free time, Grant enjoys spending time with his family.


Tom Buiocchi

Director - Supplier

CEO - ServiceChannel

Tom Buiocchi joined ServiceChannel in 2014. Tom has more than 30 years of experience leading growth companies in both technology and energy services, including Jeda Networks (interim CEO), Drobo (CEO), Mohr Davidow Ventures (Executive in Residence), Brocade Communications (CMO), Rhapsody Networks (VP Marketing), FMES (co-founder and COO), and Hewlett-Packard. Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Union College and a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.


Chris Slocum

Founder, Chief Customer Officer - Cornell Storefront Systems

Chris has worked as a door specialist in the national account retail store market for 33 years. His career and experiences have taken him throughout North America consulting with Facility Managers, Architects, Developers and General Contractors. Chris is currently Founder, Chief Customer Officer of Cornell Storefront Systems and a Connex Board Member.


Mike Bowman

Multi-Site 1st Alternate

Director, Facilities, Environmental and Safety - LCBO.

Michael Bowman is currently the Director, Facilities, Environmental and Safety with LCBO. Michael has had many varied positions over his 20-year career with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, a retailer of beverage alcohol with over 650 locations. The last 8 years have been the most rewarding as the Director of Facilities, Environmental and Safety. He is exceptionally proud of his facilities team that has successfully centralized services across a diverse network, partnered with fantastic vendors, implemented important environmental initiatives and proved that their dedication has brought value to the organization and our industry. Ontario has a large geography and Michaels’s job allows him to visit many beautiful places creating opportunity to find excursions for himself and his two boys.


Wendy Neikrie

Director of Facilities - Corepower Yoga

Wendy Neikrie has over 15 years of Facilities Management experience – mostly in the restaurant world – with a fairly recent entrée into the fitness/retail domain. This experience, combined with a start in the family business of commercial floorcovering, serves to create a unique perspective to understanding both sides of the business: as a Retailer and as a Supplier. Combining these experiences has enabled Wendy to optimize business practices employing data analysis and practical application.


Kim Goei

Supplier Alternate


Kim Goei leads Fexa's operations and delivery teams driven by a passion for innovation and genuine partnership. Kim began her career in retail, lending her leadership talents to Anthropologie, Reading International, Pier 1 Imports, and Virgin Group. Prior to joining the Fexa family Kim founded Goei Group, a boutique consulting group catering to facilities maintenance and technology companies’ growth initiatives. Kim earned her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her Master’s from New York University.
